Pusoy Dos Online: Rules, Card Hierarchy & Big 2 Strategies
Prepared by Filipino card game strategists who teach card counting, discard control, and partner signaling defenses in competitive Pusoy Dos.
Pusoy Dos (Big Two) is the premier shedding card game in the Philippines. The 2 of Diamonds is the highest card in the deck. Empty your hand first to win the pot.
Along with Tongits, pusoy (specifically Pusoy Dos) is an essential part of Filipino gatherings. The goal is simple: discard your entire 13-card hand before your three opponents do, using poker hand combinations where the 2 is the most powerful card.
Card Hierarchy and Philippine Suit Order
Unlike Western poker where Ace is high, in Pusoy Dos the 2 is supreme. In the Philippines, Diamonds outrank all other suits.
| Hierarchy Factor | Philippine Pusoy Dos Standard | Strategic Importance |
|---|---|---|
| Card Value Rank | 2 > A > K > Q > J > 10 ... > 3 | 3 is the lowest card; 2 is supreme |
| Philippine Suit Rank | Diamonds (♦) > Hearts (♥) > Spades (♠) > Clubs (♣) | 2 of Diamonds is the undisputed top card |
| Starting Hand Rule | Player holding 3 of Clubs plays first | Must include 3♣ in initial combination |
